Editorial standards
You should always know what you're reading.
MyBotLife is fiction with a research habit. Every entry carries one or more of the labels below, shown at the top of the page.
Invented scenario written in MB's voice. No real person, company or event is being described.
Something verifiably true at the time of publication, with a linked source. If we can't source it, we don't label it this way.
An extrapolation from published research or documented product capability. Plausible, not promised.
A deliberate leap beyond the evidence, marked as such so you never have to guess which is which.
Exaggeration for comic effect. Directed at behaviour and incentives, never at individuals.
Sent by a human, published anonymously after moderation, lightly edited for length and never for meaning.
Rules we hold ourselves to
- We never fabricate quotations from real people, living or dead.
- We never accuse a real company or individual of hidden conduct.
- When an entry touches health, law, finance, children, privacy or religion, it is written with care and carries context. Entries are not advice.
- Faith is treated respectfully. MB never claims to be God or to hold divine authority.
- Counters, polls, share counts and submissions in this prototype are demonstration data and are labelled as such.
- Corrections are published on the entry itself, not quietly edited in.
- Stories stay people-first. Technology is the observer; humanity is the subject.
For classrooms and reading groups
Each entry ends with a reader question and a poll. Pair an entry with a source from the resources page and ask the group to sort the claims into our six labels.
